Thetford Dolphins awarded SwimMark

Thetford Dolphins have been awarded the SwimMark Essential Clubs status by Swim England.

The SwimMark accreditation is Swim England’s quality standard for clubs.  It recognises high standards of governance, sustainability and effectiveness. Any affiliated Swim England club can apply for the accreditation, regardless of the club’s size or the disciplines it delivers. Its aim is to create the best possible swimming experience for all, to raise the quality of aquatics provision across all areas and for National Sport England to give recognition for great quality clubs.

Last year Julie Malcolm volunteered to take on the project and has committed many hours leading the process, compiling many emails to the Swim England East Region office. As she ticked off element after element the date for submitting our evidence loomed ever closer and I’m glad to say all the hard work and commitment resulted in today’s news.

Praise must also go to other members who have worked along side her. So appreciation must also be extended to Dawn Macduff, Jonathon Cooper, Sam Heslop, Steve King and Dan Clucas.
